"What day of the week was our anniversary last year?" and "How does next May's long weekend line up?" are questions that usually mean scrolling through a phone calendar for far longer than the answer deserves.
A perpetual calendar collapses that into one screen. The arrows move you a month at a time in either direction, as far back or as far forward as you like, and today's date stays marked so you never lose your place.

Pressing › in December rolls over into January of the following year, and ‹ in January rolls back into the previous December. There is no year limit in either direction, so decades in the past or future are equally reachable.
Reading the grid
Weeks run Sunday through Saturday. Sunday and Saturday are tinted differently from weekdays, and today's cell is highlighted. Depending on which weekday the first of the month falls on, the grid starts with one or more blank cells; days that do not exist in that month are simply left out.
What it does and does not show
This calendar follows the Gregorian calendar, the civil calendar used in most of the world. It shows dates and weekdays only - no public holidays, no lunar dates, no seasonal markers. Holiday rules differ by country and change from year to year, so check an official source before planning around a specific day off.

Terms explained
- Perpetual calendar
- A calendar that is not tied to a single year and can generate the layout for any month of any year on demand.
- Gregorian calendar
- The solar calendar used for civil purposes in most countries today, and the system this tool follows.
- Leap year
- A year in which February has 29 days. Years divisible by 4 qualify, except centuries, unless they are also divisible by 400.
- Week start
- The weekday a calendar grid begins on. This calendar starts each week on Sunday, the common convention in the US and Korea.
- Weekday
- The day-of-week position of a date, from Sunday through Saturday - the thing this calendar is mainly used to look up.
Frequently asked questions
How far forward and back can I go?
There is no year limit. Each arrow press moves one month, in either direction, for as long as you keep going. After wandering far from the present, the Today button returns you to the current month in one step.
Does it show public holidays or lunar dates?
No. It shows dates and weekdays only. Holidays vary by country and substitute holidays are often decided year by year, so check an official government calendar when your plans depend on a specific day off.
Are weekdays for past dates accurate?
Yes. They are computed from Gregorian calendar rules, including leap years. Note that for dates before the Gregorian calendar was adopted in a given country, historical records may show a different weekday because the Julian calendar was still in use.
How can I tell whether a year is a leap year?
Navigate to February of that year and look at the last cell. If the 29th is present, it is a leap year.
Can it count the days between two dates?
Not here - this calendar is for viewing only. For elapsed days or a countdown, use a date difference or D-day calculator.
